3. Specification of an integrated framework for security and resiliency of networked systems

Objectives

  • To define the data that is necessary to share among security systems of critical infrastructures as well as the hierarchy of communication and rules for data access restriction.
  • To design an integrated framework for securing networked systems
  • To specify appropriate protocols enabling communication between security systems in order to assure interoperability in an inter-domain environment.

Description

This work package includes the following tasks:

Task 3.1: Definition of protocols and policies for communication and data exchange among security systems and tools

This task will define (at a high abstraction level) the data that is necessary to share among tool instances administered by different entities/operators as well as the hierarchy of communication and rules for data access restriction. Furthermore, this task is aimed to define select appropriate existing protocols to implement this communication and/or investigate which enhancements are needed for the specific goals of the project (if any).

Task 3.2: Design of a component-based framework for enhanced protection of networked systems

Security issues will be addressed through the design of an appropriate framework enabling the protection of heterogeneous communication networks and infrastructures

Task 3.3:Definition of component interfaces

This task aims at defining the interfaces of the INTERSECTION framework components which will serve as input to tasks in WP4 and WP5.

The output of this WP will be used by WP4 for the detailed design/implementation or adjustment of tools, and for the design/implementation of the way tools instances can communicate among each other.
