6. Trial and demonstration

Objectives

• To define demonstration scenarios to test and validate methodologies and tools
• To demonstrate the applicability of the advanced decision support tools for mitigation, response, and recovery

Description

The aim of this work package is to demonstrate the capabilities and performance of a prototypical implementation of the security framework against the selected scenarios. It will show how the tools and methodologies developed in the previous work packages interoperate to provide the expected result.

In particular, the effectiveness of the INTERSECTION framework will be validated by installing and running a demonstration at Fucino and Scanzano (Italy) spatial centres which are technological sites supporting critical services, such as satellite telecommunications transponders, satellite-based navigation and satellite asset command & control.

This task will consist of the following activities:

·       set-up the HW environment;

·       set-up the SW platform;

·       implement procedures for testing the readiness of the environment to run the demo procedures (check the connectivity, the platform and the communication);

·       backup-restore procedures for the demonstration, in order to be able to set-up and run different demonstrations;

·       run and test the demonstration;

·       organize and host the demonstration workshop for EU reviewers;

·       prepare for the demonstration or part of it to be presented in workshops and events.

The WP6 work will pass through the following activities:

Task 6.1: Definition of the demonstration scenarios

According to the inputs coming from the previous work packages, with the available test-bed and with the comments and suggestions coming from the involved end-users, a set of demonstrative scenarios will be defined.

Task 6.2: Implementation of the demonstration scenarios

The previously defined scenarios will be implemented for demonstration and functional validation.

Task 6.3: Functional validation

The functional validation will address and meet the initial overall requirements and constraints and will assess the project outputs. The following activities are planned: preparation of the validation plan; validation and assessment of the project results using the demonstrative scenarios realised at the WP leader premises (field tests); completion of the validation report to be included in the Project Demonstration Report.
